The very top of the first page of the first chapter I found a quote I wanted to use. I figured 'Haven't done it before, but hell why not? This deserves it!' and marked (with a post-it tab) it and moved on to read more. Within ten pages I found another two quotes. A lovable snarky protagonist and clever concise writing makes this one of the most enjoyable books in the too trendy vampire romance genre. This book was ok - I probably would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't already read Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series. There were too many areas in this book where the author seems to very similar story & character elements - so it kind of bugged me. This book was ok - but if you want an entertaining (original) series - I'd stick with Charlaine Harris. ...more

I'm not into the whole vampire romance genre but I found this series to be hilarious. I guess I'm a sucker (no pun intended) for almost any story with a librarian as protagonist. Loved it, and can't wait for the third novel to come out in December 2009. ...more
