What Members Thought
I liked this a lot better than I thought I would when I first started reading. I definitely thought it would focus more on the places they were traveling, rather than just the method of traveling. The story was interesting, though, and it was a quick, fun read.
This was our family read aloud this month, and we all loved it. Everything that can go wrong does go wrong, but Phileas Fogg and his servant remain noble-hearted and selfless. Plenty of violence, a bit of romance, and an awesome ending. There is a chapter on Mormonism, too, which was interesting!
One of my childhood favorites. I reread this because it seemed appropriate while I was taking a vacation that felt like it took me around the world (Mexico and Germany). I was surprised at how well it held up; it was still fun to read, even after all these years.
