What Members Thought

From my blog: https://bookgirl1987thoughts.wordpres...
It's always a pleasant surprise when I pick up a book I've known about for years, truly not expecting much, and find that it is REALLY DAMN GOOD! This was my reading experience with Stephen Chbosky's "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." This book was published in 1999 (I was in middle school then!) and I finished it a few nights ago. It was kinda amazing, and I'll tell you why...

omg, I'm so mad I didn't write a review for this after I read it. I was probably intimidated by all the five star reviews and didn't want people to think I was an asshole.
All I really remember is I didn't like the protagonist, and I was expecting to find him relatable so I was really disappointed. I'm lowkey tempted to reread it, but I also remember finding it pretty boring so I'm probably not going to bother with that.
I don't even know why I gave it three stars. ...more

This was formerly a 3 star read and it turned into a 5 star. I think it was that I had to experience enough and grow up enough to understand the experience of reading this.
Charlie is a freshmen in high school and he spends his first year off with a rocky start. His closest friend unalived himself. He slowly gets more friends and tries to participate in school events and hangs out outside of school. So much happens. Also, 4 1/2 Sterne ;)
