What Members Thought

I absolutely loved this book. It starts out by describing ten individuals. At first, I was thinking.. how in the world am I going to remember all of these people? But at this point in the book nothing has happened yet. Quickly you come to know all of these ten people who are put in one mansion in the middle of an island all too well. It leaves you in suspense at the end of every chapter and its one of those books where I felt like I had to find out what happens next. The book is very well though

i am embarrassed to say that this is my first agatha christie read… ever.
i see now why she’s the queen of mystery — i can’t believe this book is was written close to 100 years ago, and i’m glad it was never spoiled for me.
ten individuals end up on an island after unusual invitations, all with a secret, and then mysteriously get killed off one by one… orchestrated by one u.n. owen (very fun play on words, agatha)… and it’s all done in only 250 pages?! unheard of in 2024.

This is only my second Agatha Christie novel but I can see why they are so popular. I went through the entire novel thinking that I knew who the killer was, to be surprised. To then be surprised again. The woman does write a good plot and the narrator did a good job at bringing it all alive. I found myself so captivated by the story that I upped the speed and found myself ping things in order to carry on listening until I discovered who the murderer was nd uncovered the plot. Well done Christie.

The last Agatha Christie book I read must have been when I was a teenager. Don't remember any more. The Queen of Crime has written a detective story without a detective. A poifect whodunit! ...more
