Gaiman's story of Richard Mayhew's trip down modern rabbit hole (A tube tunnel) feels stilted and thin at times, but the ending makes up for the lack of explanation in DROVES.
The characters are fun, though the only particularly 'round' one is Richard. That being said, it is HIS journey after all, and you feel immersed in it, begging for more answers, just as he does.
