This is the first book by Lee Child in his Jack Reacher series. I use to be a big reader of this genre and know I have tried this series before. I grew away from the genre, but lately am being pulled back in. Decided to go back to the beginning and Jack Reacher did not disappoint.
Reacher was raised in the military and when he reached age he joined himself. He has cut his ties and is now wandering the country. He lands in Margrave Georgia and walks into a town run by the worst sort of people. Alo ...more

I had heard a later Reacher novel on audiobook and enjoyed it. I read this one and by the climax could simply not read quickly enough.... and I read faster than average (not speed-reading, but I finish reading a page or chapter faster than most people I know).

All I can say is that I have found a new series to bring the new year with. This was another addictive read. Jack Reacher is a military man who is a hobo that you have no choice but to root for. He breaks all of the rules with deadly precision. One high stakes adventure after another. All of the characters are well fleshed out. Most are likable. The narrator is on point and as long as he continues to narrate, I will be a happy listener.
