This is my first Jack Reacher book. My husband and I have been listening to this on audio while driving --- we don't drive together very often, so it took a while. The audio narrator was excellent with different voices for the different characters.
It started off a bit slow for me, but I once the story got rolling, it was pretty good. Jack Reacher is an ex military (MP) guy who is drifting around since leaving the service. He is travelling through Margrave, GA and decides to stop. Unfor ...more

Jack Reacher is a Superman. Big guy, good looking, able to do the most astounding things; not very realistically, but you gotta admire him, he's the hero with the (not really) white hat! This is Child's debut and I have friends who wouldn't miss one of his Jack Reacher stories. Since I always start at the beginning, I started with this one. I downloaded the ebook and really enjoyed the bonus at the beginning where Lee Child describes how he got into writing and how Jack Reacher came to exist. ri

Will definitely read more of the Jack Reacher series. With prequel The Affair, I read this as part of Pop Sugar 2016 reading challenge, for the category 'a book and its prequel'. I really like the mystery genre, was not familiar with Lee Child's books, so was thrilled when I realized he had recently written a prequel, thus giving me a push to start the series.
