What Members Thought

This was at least my second reading, if not my third or fourth. And I've seen the movie innumerable times (especially since I have the dvd). And, yet, on every reading I wonder if I am misremembering. Agatha Christie has that effect on me. I always think, that can't be the way it was.
I am assuming that "white horses on the sea" is the same as "white caps". In every Christie book there is always some turn of phrase that leaves me momentarily puzzled.

Ten strangers are summoned to a private island owned by an unknown millionaire. Before the weekend is out, one is killed after another until there were none. The author did a great job in maintaining the suspense and mystery throughout the book with her sharp imagination and well-constructed sentences. It's a great story, extremely clever, but the characters--extremely well written and real--were all unlikeable. So, it's a 5-star story for reasons, but I'll probably never read this one again, and I do like the movie (1946, maybe?) better. Still, I loved reading it.
