I had very mixed emotions about this book because, honestly, Pollyanna just got on my nerves so much. Many people have compared this book to Anne of Green Gables and I can see a lot of similarities, but Anne never annoyed me as much as Pollyanna did. Pollyanna is just too naive to be believed. One of the reasons I'm "glad" I read it is because Disney versions of books always take quite a few liberties with the story and I wanted to see just how much was changed. If course I have see the movie with Hayley Mills a few times but I wanted to read the actual book. I found it on audio and the narrator was not my favorite.. sorry Mr. Cliff. Maybe he was supposed to be a voice for children.
The story is as kind and sweet as you remember..
remember the glad game? And how Pollyanna touched every heart in the town.
