According to the reviews, people either tend to love or hate this book. I can happily say I thoroughly enjoyed it!

this is a pretty dense read, but it's a great example of american magic realism. it's raw and real, but at the same time the fantasy elements are perfectly woven in. it doesn't read at all as if it's trying to be magic realism or trying to be anything. it simply is a tight story.
