To be rated/reviewed after this month’s book club meeting
I found this to be a warm, charming tale with a hint of "fairy tale for adults" feel; what a lovely way to kick off my 2019 reading year! While the story has some sad components, it was ultimately an uplifting and hopeful tale to me. This was totally an impulse buy at the thrift store. I literally judged this book by its beautiful cover and bought it for $1. I'm so glad I did!! Wonderful, richly developed characters and such unique storytelling. There are so many interwoven storylines and even intriguing little short stories in this book, it was just absolutely engaging. A lovely little book about the things we lose and the things we find. The plot worked out a little too neatly, but I loved it anyway. Some days you just need a happy ending.
