This was totally an impulse buy at the thrift store. I literally judged this book by its beautiful cover and bought it for $1. I'm so glad I did!! Wonderful, richly developed characters and such unique storytelling. There are so many interwoven storylines and even intriguing little short stories in this book, it was just absolutely engaging. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is probably no fault of the book's. I think if I'd read it more intently in the beginning instead of just tak ...more

This was a wonderfully engaging and colorful novel. I loved the characters, their discoveries and friendship building. The character development across the different plotlines was clear and the pacing went smoothly. I loved the short stories attached to each lost item the best, although the way Laura, Freddy and Sunshine went about matching the lost item collection to their owners was also fun to read.

I struggled to get into this with all of the characters to establish and the side stories of the objects, but I'm glad I stuck with it. The Alzheimer's/dementia storyline made it extra poignant to me. ...more
