I listened to the unabridged Audio book version of this novel. I loved it. Yes it has mature content in it, "sex, drugs, and rock and roll man!", but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hearing the voice actors add their emotions into the reading really made the dialogue come alive for me. If you are having trouble with reading the back and forth of the script I highly recommend you switch over to the audio book. This book is like a “Behind the Music” transcript of a fictional 1970’s rock band, and I really enjoyed it! After reading two of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s books, it’s clear that she is an excellent storyteller. Each of the voices of the band members were so REAL, it was hard to believe this wasn’t an actual group of musicians reflecting on their actual experiences of touring and creating a hit record. The oral history format of this book definitely made it unique. I wasn’t sure if I would like it, but from the middle toward the end, I found myself very engaged with the story. Everyone remembers things a little bit differently, but it was neat to read the different points of view of the band members and how they corroborated each others’ stories or not. I am excited to see what Amazon Prime does with this series since Elvis’ granddaughter plays Daisy Jones! It will be fun to hear the band play
