What Members Thought
Well that was long. I have thoughts, but probably nothing super new to add. I was so resistant to reading this, and I'm so glad that Arlington Public Library chose it as their big summer read- so I finally felt compelled to join in and do it. This is both way funnier and way more current than I expected. And also wildly digressing and I know more than I ever wanted to know about blubber and whaling.

I found Melville's classic verbose and disjointed with problems of point-of-view. The moral itself is worthwhile however--that of letting something obsess us to the exclusion and harm of all else. Skip the book and watch any movie version!
