What a fun read! I wasn't sure if I would like it so I was pleasantly surprised when I actually did. I look forward to continuing the series :)

A gasp left me, and I tried to jump backward only to bang into the table bench. I couldn't dart forward, he was too big, caging me. My stomach started performing backflips, decided that wasn't enough, and next gave a full-on circus trapeze act.
I didn't mean to get sucked into this book, but I did (just like Alice down the rabbit hole! hah!)

Keeping in mind this is for teens --- and as such, features those awkward back-and-forth relationship pre-cursers --- this is actually a pretty good read. I love that Ali is kind of bad ass, standing up to the Queen Bee at school and throwing punches when necessary; she's strong but still uncertain and ooey gooey over a boy with tattoos and bruises. It's a different take on zombies and I'll be interested to learn more about the different factions at play.
