Eeeek! That was a fun read. I have a friend that cannot read/watch stories with any children in peril, and I kept thinking, this would be THE WORST book for her! Shout out to MT weather last night, which made it possible for me to finish this one up in the house alone while the rain poured outside and the wind gusted spookily. What was that noise?!

There are a lot of mixed reviews on Bird Box - the book and the movie. I haven’t seen the Netflix movie yet, but I thought the book was solid. By now, everyone knows what you see can hurt you, therefore, blindfolds. I found myself thinking too practically about this book, and tried to just be entertained.

Books like this leave me completely unsatisfied because they never explain the why. I realize that the real point is supposed to be the suspense - will she be able to row 20 miles blindfolded? But, eh. That really did nothing for me.
I was kind of bored early on but stuck with it because I wanted to know why people started going crazy and needed to be blindfolded. Sadly that never got answered.

I watched the movie on Netflix first, and just had to read the book. I am so glad that I did, because it is completely different. It is way more intense, as well. There are a few scenes that I am glad weren't in the movie, and some that I didn't understand why they left them out. Imagine a world that has fallen to chaos, and the only way to survive is to blind yourself. Would you wear a blindfold, like the majority of the characters in this book did, or would you blind yourself permanently like
