Shelves: mystery, audiobook, goddamn-classics, hoopla

Man....I think the narrator (Hugh Fraser) did this no favors for me? I am a little mystified why this book never “caught” for me. It might have been name overwhelm - seeing as how this was audio and there were a LOT of dude names (only 3 female characters, which not bad for the times, etc etc) they kind of all just smeared together into one polite and mildly offputting dude-character in my mind (it got better as it went along and there were fewer to keep track of 😅).

Shelves: fireside-reading

This was good - Christie does a marvelous job of drawing each character distinctly. I had no trouble keeping straight who was who - a problem I sometimes encounter in mysteries!

The premise is of course a seminal one. Long before reading this, I've enjoyed the movies Clue and Murder by Death, and clearly they owe so much to this single novel.
