I honestly can't believe I never read this book before. I just want to soak in the love between Celie and her sister, find the peace of mind and strength that Celie possesses as she accepts herself. More real than real life: funny, heartbreaking, amazing.

I am not a religious person, and I don't consider myself to be particularly spiritual, but something about Shug's definition of God struck a chord with me. I have never really attempted to articulate my beliefs as such, but if I did I think they would be something like this.
