Wow. What an amazingly conceived book. Agatha Christie was a genius. I loved the way she crafted the plot around a nursery rhyme and I did not at all figure out how it all worked together.
I highly recommend this for mystery fans. It’s clever and fast paced and engaging.
The only word of caution I would offer is that there’s quite a bit of subtle (and not so subtle) racism and sexism. The book is, after all, a product of its time. But I found it fairly easy to forgive these flaws given the brill ...more

I'm sad to say I was actually kind of underwhelmed by this one. I thought it was way to quick and I never really had time to feel suspense about any of the deaths. It was like bam bam bam. I liked the creativity of the plot devices, with the poem and the epilogue, but overall I finished this books feeling very underwhelmed.

While I believe that I read some of Christie's work when I was in high school, I don't remember much about it, and certainly didn't recognize any of this plot. I was engaged through the end, although frustrated with an ending I'm not sure how

I've reread this book for many times now, but still being mesmerized by it. It's ingenious, brilliant, out of the box, and ahead of its time. It's a masterpiece and I don't blame Christie if this becomes one of her most favorite books she ever written.
