As I've carried this impressive and intriguing book around with me for the last month, I've been asked several times: "What is it about?"
If you've experienced House of Leaves, you know that that's like asking a deaf person to describe Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
Yet Beethoven himself was mostly deaf as he composed what is arguably the best symphonic work of all time.
So who is the genius? And who is ignorant? And who cares!

Would make a great college course, but as a casual read I was annoyed that I had to work so hard to read it. I felt like each layer took away from each other layer, and following the footnotes was too distracting. The Navidson Record itself is my favorite, but wanted more. Definitely made me think, but didn't change my life.

Asking me what my favorite book is can be a dangerous endeavor, and I'm likely to answer with lots of "Uhh..."s or a mightily long list. But nine times out of ten, this is the book that comes to mind. And that's all I'll say about that=)
