What Members Thought
I liked this way more than I thought I would! I can see why this is one of the titles that come up when people talk about the classic mystery. Once the murders began, I was hooked. And the ending was twisty enough without being overly dramatic or silly. Of course, the writing style is dated and the casual sexism/racism would be unacceptable in modern writing, but I understand that's often a consideration when reading a book written in a different time.

It’s hard to find flaws in what it considered one of (if not the) greatest mystery novels of all time. And it is true that Christie’s classic tale of murder on a remote island is, in many respects, terrific. What troubles me, however, is that the crime is so well orchestrated (by both the killer and the author) that there seem to be no clues the reader can use to deduce the outcome of the mystery. And that, I’m afraid, takes a bit of the fun out of the experience.

This is not my favorite style of mystery, but it was interesting to read about all the different people. I was pretty sure I knew "who done it" ... but the book did throw me a loop, though I was right in the end. It was an enjoyable read.

As this was my first book by Agatha Christie, I was expecting to be bowled over and I was not. I guess the fact that I had no idea who the murderer was made it a well written murder mystery. I think what took away from that was that it wasn't believable to me.
