Disappointment. That is the first word that comes to mind when describing the third and final book of the Divergent series. I was expecting to be blown away, but that did not happen.
One of my biggest issues of this book is that Roth took away the one person story to two person. I do not care about what Four/Tobias thinks about what is going on. For some reason I remember Divergent way more than Insurgent, but I just started reading. I remembered the basic plot and characters, but still kept having to think about who was who outside of Tris and Four/Tobias. There is a lot going on and it moves right from the beginning. This one has alternate POVs to make it more than just Tris' story. It was interesting to find out how the factions and all started, but I still felt there were things missing. When I first started, I didn't think I'd get through it. It was overly mushy and I wasn't sure how I felt about the changing point-of-view. Not loving the changing POV right away was not a good sign.
The BIG THING that happened didn't affect me at all. I think I would've cared more if Insurgent had been better.
The romantic aspect (which I enjoyed so much in Divergent) became cloying, but I think I became numb to it by the end.
