Wow, this was... disturbing. I don't think I've ever read a novel with so many fucked up characters, sex and drugs, but I guess it's because of the dark atmosphere and twisted plot that I actually really enjoyed reading this book - it's different from anything I've ever read before.

So as I was reading this book, up until the very end I was expecting to give it 3 stars or less. I felt that it glorified drug culture and violence too much, but the end really redeemed itself and made everything make so much more sense. This is my second Leah Raeder book and like always, her writing is absolutely beautiful, without falling into purple prose territory. I really did enjoy reading this and the messages that it carries are important.

If anyone is planning to read this book, know that this isn't like any YA book you would ever read. It really is dark and twisted, and it scared the heck out of me. So don't read if you're into summer romance books and stuff like that, because this is the total opposite.
Another thing: forgiveness is liberating, and if I am weak for believing that then I would rather be the "sheep" than the "wolf". In the end, the sheep is much more sympathized than the wolf, who will m ...more
