Noralyn told me not to see the movie before I read this, but unfortunately I already had. Knowing the way the mystery worked out detracted from my enjoyment. I also tried hard to create my own picture of Lisbeth, but kept seeing the movie in my head. I think the book could have been about 200 pages shorter and wrapped up a lot quicker. I normally do not read mysteries/ thrillers so I'm not sure if I'll read the other two.

I started this book about 3 times before I was able to get into it. My friends' nagging me kept me trying. It really is an excellent mystery with an element of horror also. Lisbeth Salander is one of the most interesting heroine's to come along in awhile. Reading this book made me more curious about my Swedish heritage. My ancestors are from Varmland which is mentioned in the book. I will be looking for the next one in the series.
