What Members Thought

I am having trouble deciding how I feel about this book. I really don't want to give 5 stars out too freely as I think I have in the past, but, I really enjoyed this story. It is one that haunts you hours after you have put it down. I have so many questions I would like to talk to others about concerning the book as I have so many odd emotions.

The unnamed character in this novel was the victim of a car accident that resulted in extensive burning of his body. While in the burn ward at the hospital, he is visited by Marianne Engel, who tells him that they have been lovers for over 700 years. What a beautiful, tragic story. I couldn't bring myself to read more than fifty pages a day until today, when I read the last hundred; I wanted to draw this out that much. I understand if this is the only novel Davidson will ever produce (I know writing something like this would exhaust me,) but I sincerely hope this isn't all he has to offer.
