Really liked this moving story involving a refugee from Nigeria, a recently widowed woman & her son who is obsessed with Batman. Story alternates between the girl (Little Bee ) and Sarah (the widow). Very interesting how their stories come together & why. My criticism is the author's use of baby talk for the child (4 YO). It's as if he put in every possible mistake a child might make (incorrect verb tenses, etc). And then he has the mom correct the child. Too me, those passages really detracted

Little Bee was a compelling story, which begs the reader to think about the choices we make in life. It also asks us to step outside of our own little egocentric worlds, and take a good look at the world and people around us. The story is told in alternating viewpoints of two women and shows us what happens when their two worlds collide. There were a couple of plot points which nagged me, but otherwise......Powerful! Moving! Haunting!
