There is definitely a thin line between love and hate, and this book straddled that line for me.
I was back and forth throughout the entire book.

It started out great. We meet Henry and Basil while they are visiting and then Dorian comes along. Basil holds Dorian on a pedestal based on his beauty. He idolizes him and he is also doing a portrait of him. (Yes, the portrait.) If read without considering Time and Social Context- this is an ordinary gay love story. Sorry if it feels that way.
The way it was written however is beyond imagining. Wilde has his way with words- in a BIBLICAL sense.

Why didn't I review this when I first read it?! Whyyyy?! Ugh, past me is in so much trouble for this.

Someday, possibly soon, I'll re-read this and leave a proper review. In the meantime, let me just say that I freaking love this book! It's probably one of my favorite books, in general, but it's definitely in my top 3 favorite classics (which are all basically equally loved).
