"A Court of Thorns and Roses" by Sarah J. Maas presents an intriguing blend of fantasy and romance, yet it leaves much to be desired in terms of world-building and character decisions.
One of the aspects I truly appreciated was the family dynamic between Feyre and her father and sisters. The early interactions among them provided a strong emotional foundation and added depth to Feyre's character. It’s a pity that this dynamic wasn’t explored further as the story progressed. Going into this book I already knew about some of the plot and characters, but I was still surprised by a lot of things that happened. Maas does a really great job writing about emotions, inner turmoil and relationship drama. The first few chapters were a bit slow for me because there was a lot of world building and characters naturally unfolding. It wasn't forced, but I was ready for the action to start quickly. I had a lot of questions that had to deal with what I already knew about the series
