Characters-10
I loved this take on Wonderland, and a large part of that was because of the characters. While we don't have Alice, we do have the Queen of Hearts, and Cath was delightfully fun to read about. I love the supporting characters of the book. Jest was another fun character, and it was great to read his character as well. One of my favorite things about this book was that Cath wasn't inherently evil from the start, and it was such a fun arc to follow.

The ending was so gooood. Why didn't it start with the last few chapters and continued the story from there?

DNF! I was able to tolerate the main chicks extremely annoying and self-centred personality right up until the very end where she just got ridiculously dramatic and selfish to the point of cruelty. I literally could not stand it any longer. Which is such a shame because I was really curious about where the story would go, and thought the whole book was written really well! I just couldn't read from her point of view anymore, it was killing me! And Jest, beautiful beautiful Jest. (view spoiler)

Intriguing
I was not convinced I would enjoy this story as I have not read Alice in Wonderland and only know the basics through movies and cartoons. I am very happy that I picked it up and gave it a chance. Some parts are a little slow but the last 25% had me on the edge of my seat. The imagination in the story was intriguing and painted a colorful picture. The characters were well described allowing the reader to feel invested. This book left me sorting through a lot of emotions so in the end I ...more

I found this book through YouTube. thanks to Hailey in bookland and Emma and a few others. I was a bit sketchy because I hadn't fully read Alice in wonderland yet but I will say that I love the "nevermore" response from the raven in the story. channeling a little Edgar Allen Poe.
