Although far from being deep, this amusing little story is part tall-tale, part harlequin romance, part recipe book. There are 12 chapters, each one a "monthly installment" (the book's story does not follow the monthly pacing; it's written like a magazine serial), each month featuring a different Mexican recipe around which the whole chapter circulates.
