My Thoughts: Wow, what a book! I loved The Red Queen!!! What an interesting amazing novel!

We are introduced to Mare who comes from a semi big family. She has a mother, father, a few brothers, and a younger sister. They are classified as poor. She helps them get by by stealing. She also has a boy best friend! Awesome!

Mare lives in a world where you can have two different lifestyles. Those with red blood (Mare) live in terrible conditions, while silver bloods have special powers and live wealthy. ...more

A lot of good elements here for the start of a promising new YA trilogy. A world where the ones who rule and the ones who are oppressed are divided by blood. Silver blood rules, reds ruled. The silver bloods have x-men abilities which is way cool and holds my attention the most.

My mixed feelings about this book mostly have to do with the immature quality of Mare my main character and the lack of interesting folks that are around her. The characters definitely need some life breathed into them, e ...more

LOVED this book! It was so imaginative! I knew throughout the entire book that one of the brothers would be a bad guy, but I never could figure out which one! Well thought out and it kept me guessing! This would be an awesome movie series! I'd love to see the complexion of the silvers. Do they look blue because of their silver blood? ...more
