I admittedly know exceptionally little about Latin American history - but this book bored me. This is one of those books that most likely was not meant to be interpreted so bombastically - but honestly people need to get over themselves and stop all this navel gazing. It is a simple, repetitive story where I couldn't wait for the thing to be over.

Yes I get why it is repetitive. It is showing how history repeats itself. That does not make good literature. I get what it was trying to do. Good lite
