I'm once again disappointed. I thought I had just unknowingly read a shortened version the first time and maybe I'd understand the full version better.
The first time I read Dracula, a shortened version like I said, it just didn't make sense because many parts were missing. Reading the full story does give you a good sense of continuity even if you're hearing from multiple people. All of the movies are also only inspired, none of it is even a close representation.

Started this and debated giving up because wasn’t that engaged at the start. Kept going, was a v good idea, middle was veryyyy gripping! I liked that Mina actually had a role !! But then towards the end, Didn’t like the repetitive ‘oh a woman, the saviour of the human race, the most lovely creature in the world’
But v good overall!
