I would highly recommend listening to the audiobook. It was super entertaining "alright, alright, alright"...and although he had a slightly wild past, he truly loves his wife, children and family. And although he came across many 'redlights', he truly believes they are the stepping stones to 'greenlights' and moves forward. ...more

There were parts of this book I really liked (the cover...swoon!) and parts I didn't like. I've always liked Matthew McConaughey and respect him as an actor. I liked his book, because he was very real in it. He certainly had to make his own way in the business and has worked hard to get where he got. He loves his family and seems to have better values than the majority of Hollywood hunks. The true barometer for which I measure how much I like an audiobook is by what speed I listen to it. Ha. I usually listen to a book at 2x speed, but if I really like a book or the narrator, I slow it down to 1.5...even celebrity-narrated memoirs. I listened to Greenlights a 1x speed and still wanted to make it last longer. Matthew McConaughey is definitely a different kind of thinker, but his humor (even when applied to making fun of himself) was just what I was hoping for. Best celebrity non-fi ...more

3.75 stars. I really liked this. Matthew's memoir was much different than that of others I have read/listened to. I enjoyed his playful, fun recounting as he read this to his audience. It gives a positive outlook on life when most memoirs just make you feel sad. I kind of want the actual book because the notes to self, and bumper stickers were my favorite part. Bravo Matthew!
