I’m not sure how to review this book just yet. Just finished. There was a lot I liked and some I found derivative. But I can’t land on a rating. It was definitely worth my time to read, so at a minimum, a good book made certainly well written. I guess I will revisit this review if the second book calls me to read it. That will be the true test for me, and I think it will but for now, I need a rest after a long journey.

From when I first picked up this book I was hooked. I loved everything about it. The characters, the story the way Justin Cronin describes things. The first time I read this book I couldn't stop reading it, I think I finished it in 2 days.

This was a massive read but well worth it. It had me hooked right from the get go and the twists and turns kept coming with never a dull moment. I loved that this book was not predictable and that the story kept changing. I have heard it described as horror but I couldn't really see it as such. There were bits that were suspenseful and somewhat frightening but it was more thriller in my opinion. The scariest thing about it was the book's cover. That girl was really creepy!!!
