I just finished reading this historical fiction . A story of two sisters and their father in a war torn France in WW-II. A marvelous read that tells us what human being can endure if there is an inner burning desire to survive and love. I could not put this book down and give it a splendid 5 star.

This is just amazing. It tells the story of two sisters living through the German occupation of France during the Second World War the story is told so beautifully and skillfully. While most of the book is heartbreaking in it's depiction of mans inhumanity towards man the undercurrent of love is also very powerful. This was just an amazing read ...more

Really enjoyed this one, 4.5 stars. It is about two sisters in France during WWII. They find themselves in two completely different situations during the war and are able to find their own ways to get through it and help others. One of the best that I've read in 2015! ...more
