I will be your group-read moderator. Love to see everybody join in.
Happy reading everybody.

Great explanation David. Thank you

(All Editions Combined 2018 Edition – 1316 books)

One thing to be aware of, this list has one error. There should be only 1315 books. This list contains Le Neveu de Rameau and the combo book: Rameau's Nephew / D'Alembert's Dream. It seems to have been inadvertatly duplicated.

I found a couple things you might want to update. I started looking because there should only be 1315.
In the # column, 432 is missing. When you adjust all the numbers, you will get Winter as #1314. Then the one at the bottom (original title: "Kaas" (when sorting by #) has a blank title and no #. It becomes 1315. The title should be "Cheese".

February
Cutter and Bone by Newton Thornburg
March
Midaq Alley by Naguib Mahfouz
Next quarter we will be back to voting here on GR. Thank you to everybody who was patient with us during this transition.
Happy reading and see you in the group read threads.

Good to know! and I keep hearing that #7 is the best so you have the best yet to come

Following behind you. I just finished The Big Sleep. I will be starting Farewell, My Lovely soon, but I have a few book club books to knock out first.
Now I can see where all the comparisons came from in the Red Harvest thread. Definitely able to compare and contrast moral ideals. I loved the slang in this book too. Although a slightly different set than that Hammett used.

From the grandfather to the grandson, the whole life of the von Trotta's is cyclical. Not to mention the many parallels throughout the book.
Masterfully described, the decline of the Austro-Hungarian Empire was eminent and it felt like it was all tied to this family in one way or another.

Updating the list with the books on here listed as "nonfiction" by Goodreads. Others may be arguably non-fiction like On the Road, Promise at Dawn, A Modest Proposal, and The Things They Carried... but they are listed as "fiction" here.

The only things that will now be different is that you won't be able to change your vote like you could on the GR poll, and you won't be able to see who voted for what. That's what this threadl is for, if you would like to share.

It'll be great to have you here. Be sure to let us know which ones you are reading and which ones you finish. And don't forget the name of the book! You MUST read them. Not "should" read them, or "might wanna" read them. YOU MUST! (musty or not...)

Hoopla is great. Every library should join.
