Hehe. I've discovered bookmooch.com and my number of owned unread books grew drastically after that ;)

Kasi, actually the idea is to get rid of some of the books you already
own but haven't read yet - not to get books out of the library.
But of course, if you have no unread owned books then GOOD ON YOU! (I have 80+, so I'm impressed), and by all means use this group to get rid of some of the books on your to-read-not-owned list :)

Hi Anwen,
No, I didn't find TTW hard to keep up with at all. The jumping back and forth in time takes some getting used to, but in no way difficult to follow.
Twilight is excellent :)

Oh, you're in for a treat!
The Time Traveller's Wife and
Twilight are two of my all-time favourite books!

Hi Brigitte and welcome.
Yes, it would appear that you are a book-a-holic, but don't despair - so are all the rest of us on this group! ;)

What did you think of Atonement, Elle? It's on my to-read list, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Shame on you indeed, Kay ;) "Pride and Prejudice" is definitely my favourite, with "Emma" and "Mansfield Park" coming in close behind. If you like audiobooks I think
librivox.org/newcatalog has all her books.

Thanks Kay. That's more or less what I expected of it, so it's still on my to-read list :)

"Wild Swans" was amazing! I highly recommend it.
Only 5 more to go - I'm rushing ahead of schedule ;)

What did you think of the Yada Yada book? It's on my to-read list, so I'm wondering if I should bump it either up or off ;)

"The Time Traveler's Wife" is one of my favourite books. Hope you'll like it too.
"Twilight" is just wonderful :)

Hi kLorene. I finished "The Red Tent" last night and was unfortunately a bit disappointed in it, as I felt it strayed too far from the original Biblical story (not so much of Dinah, I liked what they did there, but felt Jacob and Joseph were very misrepresented). As a book in its own right, I enjoyed it and found it well-written, but I'd have liked it better if it hadn't tried to claim to be Biblical.

Finished
Stolen Lives (La Prisonniere's English title) last night. It's absolutely amazing!

Read Winnie-the-Pooh in January and am currently reading La Prisonniere (in Danish though... I don't speak French).

Here are the 12 books I've decided on for 2008 - listed in no particular order:
1)
Wild Swans by Jung Chang.
Read in May.2)
The Red Tent by Anita Diamant.
Read in March3)
People of the Fire by Kathleen Gear

5)

Just goes to show how different we all are. I get bored reading only one book at a time and usually read 3 or 4.

I finished
The Big Over Easy yesterday and loved it! Amazon calls it Fforde's weakest book, but I'd have to disagree. It's much better than
Lost in a Good Book. I've heard that
The Fourth Bear is even better, so can't wait to get to read that one.
Only one book left on my list now! I'll soon have to make another one for the first 6 months of 2008 :)

Sure, go for it! This group is to post our lists, encourage each other in our readings and discussing the books we read, so it would definitely be in the spirit of the group :)

Good idea. I keep forgetting that feature exists. But what happens if there's more than one book by the same name? Like
The Wild Swans?
Ah! Got it - it links to a search and not the book itself. Cool.

Just finished
Taken on Trust this morning. It's absolutely amazing! I highly recommend it.
