Oooh, I've been wanting to read The Moonstone ever since I read (and fell in love with) The Woman in White. Let me know what you think of it?
Yup. The only requirement is that the book is on your TBR list/shelf by January 1st, 2010. Have fun!
In no particular order...1) The Lost Diary of Don Juan by Douglas Carlton Abrams.
2) World Without End by Ken Follett.
3) Sorcery and Cecelia by Patricia Wrede.
4) Sabriel by Garth Nix.
5) September by Rosamunde Pilcher.
6) Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett.
7) The Pilot's Wife by Anita Shreve.
8) The End of Mr Y by Scarlett Thomas.
9) Nightshade by Andrea Cremer.
10) Size 12 Is Not Fat by Meg Cabot.
11) Monday's Child by Louise Bagshawe.
12) April by Gabrielle Lord.
Comments on my selection are always very welcome :)
Finished And Then He Kissed Her and wasn't too impressed by it, unfortunately. It was a lot more superficial than I'd expected it to be.
I was unfortunately rather disappointed by By the Time You Read This. I'd expected something poignant like PS, I Love You but it didn't even come close. It was okay reading for a lazy afternoon, but nothing more.
Finished The Stepford Wives. A bit disappointed about the non-ending, but otherwise a really good book!
I've read "My Best Friend's Girl" by Dorothy Koomson and absolutely loved it, so I have high hopes for "Goodnight, Beautiful".
I figured it was time to update my goal for 2009.Like before, these are all books I own, but haven't gotten around to reading yet. In no particular order...
1) Little Earthquakes - Jennifer Weiner
2) The Pillars of the Earth - Ken Follett
3) The Eye of the World - Robert Jordan
4) Assassin's Apprentice - Robin Hobb
5) The Other Boleyn Girl - Philipa Gregory
6) And Then He Kissed Her - Laura Lee Guhrke
7) Monday's Child - Louise Bagshawe
8) The Stepford Wives - Ira Levin
9) Sabriel - Garth Nix
10) Farthing - Jo Walton
11) By The Time You Read This - Lola Jaye
12) Goodnight, Beautiful - Dorothy Koomson
Comments are very welcome :)
Aaaand now I'm behind schedule. I've only read one since May! That doesn't mean I haven't read any owned-unread books though... just different ones ;)I finished "Dragonflight" yesterday and really enjoyed it. "Dragonsong" and "Dragonsinger" (of the Harper's Hall trilogy) are both better though.
Personally I love Stephenie Meyer's series, but it's a series that very much divides people into "love it" and "hate it", so I while I think it's worth reading (obviously, since I fall in the former group ;) ) it's probably best if you read it without too high expectations. It's not "high class lit" - it's YA and should be taken as such.I thought The Book Thief was okay, but not amazing.
