Oooh, I'd love to hear your thoughts on When We Left Cuba! I loved Next Year in Havana but haven't gotten to read this one yet.

Yaaay! This TBR though 😍😍😍😍 I hope you love Illuminae, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on Wilder Girls as I need to read that one soon! In fact... would you want to buddy read it?
I know the plan was to aim for 2 readathons per month, and it's been almost a month since our last one, so this is a little overdue! Because of that, let's make it a long one: how about our first WEEK-LONG readathon?!This readathon will begin at 12:00AM (your time zone) Sunday, May 12th, and will end at 11:59PM (again, your time zone!) Saturday, May 18th.
A few optional prompts, take 'em or leave 'em!:
1) A random choice! You can either sort a Goodreads shelf by "random", pick a random number and grab that numbered book off your shelf or kindle, or just close your eyes and grab something. Let us know what surprise you picked out!
2) A scary read! Hear me out, if you don't like horror: you could pick something that's so big it intimidates you, or so highly hyped that you're scared you'll be the odd one out, or maybe even just a book with some dark fantasy elements — interpret this as loosely as you want!
3) A book with more than one author — an anthology, a co-written book (*cough* Aurora Rising would be great for this, and it's my favorite book of the year so far...), whatever you like! If you can't come up with anything else, you could also read a book that is written by one person and illustrated by another, such as a graphic novel. 😊
Feel free to post your TBR whenever you'd like, and be sure to check our buddy read threads if you want to buddy read with anyone! ♥♥
Olga wrote: "I'm crossing my fingers for more of these in May. I got most of my April reading in this readathon."We will definitely be having more in May! :D No worries!
Sionna wrote: "OH haha totally didn't realize the readathon was still going 0.0 I would have been more on stop of things.

which is... pretty good."Ooooh, I'm excited to see your review for this. I think I'll try to read it before Made For You.
I have been a cleaning and working machine over the last few days and barely read anything. 😂 I always joke that I curse myself when I host readathons because it seems inevitable that I never end up reading much for my own readathons!! But so far I've read:- Croquette Empanada: The Book Romeo Would Have Given Juliet
comic collection, 128pg
- Nocturnal
poetry collection, 178pg
- Cruel Works of Nature: 11 Illustrated Horror Novellas
anthology, 344pg
And I've read a bit of the following books:
- Dead Until Dark
100pg
- The Last Time I Lied
50pg
- In Darkness, Delight: Masters of Midnight
40pg
I still have 5.5 hours until the readathon ends here, so I'm going to try to knock out a couple of graphic novels and maybe finish one of my current reads by midnight!
I've been really busy today and yesterday so I don't remember which page counts went for which days, but I've read ~600pg so far from That Kind of Guy, Croquette y Empanada, Nocturnal, and the 100ish pages I've read so far of Cruel Works of Nature. :D
I worked until 5, then ran errands, and then took a little nap as I had a headache earlier, so it's now 9:28pm and I haven't read anything yet (oops), but it's okay because that nap and the coffee I'm drinking right now should hopefully help me knock out some serious pages tonight! :D
I love seeing all of your TBRs! ♥♥ It makes me so happy that other people are as excited as I am to just have these casual readathons and chat about what we're reading. Thank you all for joining in! Sorry for the sappy moment 😂
Marlise wrote: "Hi all! I'm new to the group. Do audiobooks count? I listen quite a bit to books while I'm at work."Welcome! Yes, absolutely!
Woooo, readathon time! Of course, it started almost 2 hours ago but I've been blogging and watching booktube instead of reading. 🤷♀️😂
Mysterious Figure wrote: "What is buddy reading? I am in though!"It's when you and 1 or more other people read the same book at the same time and discuss! Kind of like an online book club. :D
