So if a non-fiction book doesn't have an author name that works, we can't use it...is that correct? Real people can't be characters and the setting won't work either?

I finished 14th Deadly Sin and entered it on the mini spreadsheet under "pure." If you need to move things around, it also contained the words: sugar, lady, pen, plate, sharp, orange, cold, dry, and touch.
And it has a lady on the cover.

I will start
14th Deadly Sin next. It contains the words: sugar, pure, lady, pen, plate, sharp, orange, cold, dry, and touch.
Do you want me to wait to add it until we see what we need? (I haven't even started it yet, but it'll be a quick read)
Bailey wrote: "Would dear girls work for the mini??"I'm not 100% sure I get how this works yet, but if I'm understanding correctly that the words listed can be found anywhere in the text, then Dear Girls (Ali Wong, right?) would work. There are a couple of references to "gloves" in the text of the book (p 163 and 189). That's only if I'm understanding that right.
*And page 15 references a plate of orange chicken. (Plate and orange are both words we need)

I just feel bad. She told me she had a really busy month and I encouraged her to participate anyway. I really can make up a few books. I think I said I typically read 5 because I knew my April would be super busy, but I think I'll read more than that in Feb/March.

I'm reading more than I planned to and had told her I'd pick up the slack for February. Although, I think she got a message that didn't make her feel very welcome. So that's a bummer. It's a game. Life happens. We would've been fine.

Looking at my physical stash of books...I seem to have a lot of colored book colors that don't work for Uno. Like purple, black, pink. Maybe there will be a mini-challenge with weird colors!

I started The Unhoneymooners for my yellow card.

I've heard from Madeline. Her son gets married next week...then I think she'll be back online more.
Bailey wrote: "I just finished Ali Wong’s memoir Dear Girls. Hilarious (maybe not for everyone!) and very real and vulnerable."I wondered about this one!

I am just finishing
Evvie Drake Starts Over and I'm liking it much more than I anticipated.

I have a bit more time off than usual next week and I'm sooo looking forward to catching up on some reading. Just have a couple of annoying things like dental appointments to break it up. 😂

I found some great reads going through people's read lists for reverses last year.

And hello Ana and Anna!

I will probably also read this in February. It could work for the Red 2 or Wild Draw Four if someone else has claimed it.

In real life, it looks navy blue. It's pretty dark on my phone...but I do think it's blue.

If Madeline and I both do 3 yellow, that could work for the 3 yellow and a wild draw 4, right?
Donna wrote: "Please let me know if you can't open the spreadsheet. They can be temperamental sometimes."I could open it! Could you move me from 0- yellow to 3- yellow in the color cards claimed message? Unless it has a Z character... I'll let you know. 😉

Thanks to all 3 captains for all the work on set up and keeping track of books.
Bailey wrote: "I’ll claim the blue 8 with Station Eleven (Emily St. John Mandel)"I haven't read that one, but I saw this on a list of most anticipated books of 2020 and thought it looked good.
The Glass Hotel Let us know what you think of Station Eleven.
