Oh no I'm going to complete it just not post it!

They really need a "jump to page __" option for the bookshelves. I've never noticed it before this round but it's really annoying trying to get to a certain page!

I'm not sure what I'll read. I have several books that are on the shelf so I guess it will depend on what kind of mood I'm in.

Right now I've got:

The Hobbit
First Frost & Touch of Frost
Grave Mercy
The Battle of the Labyrinth

that will be easy to get and have been on my TBR for some time. So, I'll likely see which one or ones of those I'm in the mood for.

This month's topic is literature, which the dictionary defines as "written works, especially those considered of superior or lasting artistic merit." or "books and writings published on a particular subject.".

1. Of the two definitions above, which one most closely represents your interpretation of literature?

I usually think of the first definition when I think about "literature"

2. As you peruse this month's Literature Shelf, what do you think of the books on the list. Do you feel that they are a good representation of literature?

I agree with most of the books on the literature shelf. There are some that I would cock an eyebrow at (if I knew how to that)


3. What book or books have you read that you feel most deserve to be called "literature" and why?

I tend to me more broad in my definition of literature. But for the most part, I think that books that really and truly make me think or self-reflect are those that I most consider literature. Also, those that are non-fiction but go beyond just entertainment value.

I read: Another Brooklyn by Jacqueline Woodson. It was difficult for me to read at times, but it's a book that stayed with me because of the reflection I did after I was finished reading. Below is my review:

I thought the realities that these girls faced at a young age were hard to listen to but I thought that the author gave a very accurate view of how things were. It was sad but at the same time if was heart warming to see how even though their circumstances weren't all that great they had this childhood which they would have considered to be great. The problems didn't come until adolescence hit. And watching the changes in the girls and their friendships was hard.

Once again this author really made me think and reflect.

I wasn't sure what books I would use for round 1. Since the books didn't cross over and round 1 was the harder one, it was my priority. So if there was a book I found for round 2 that also worked for round 1, I would move it there. So, I didn't want to post round 2 until I knew I was done with round 1.

LOL, convoluted I know, but it made sense to me to work it that way.
