Sounds like a solution. The important thing is that this list is made up of books that have been on the shelf or TBR for a long while. Nothing says you have to stick with the 10 oldest.

I'm struggling. My chosen start book is going slowly. I may start one of the others and read fewer pages per day in the first book...94 pages per day is a struggle unless the book is immediately interesting.

Also, I have several library books in progress not for RAT.

Welcome, Becky. My top genres are fantasy, mysteries, and paranormal most of the time. However, I will delve into any book that interests me. We are just starting to plan for next year, and Bookopoly has already begun. Just jump in when you see something that interests you.

Karin, as long as they are "old, lost books", they can come from anywhere. This game is meant to help each of us move past those books we have around or on a list that have been there for years.

As to whether or not they can be found, I would suggest that, if a book is not available to read (for me that means I don't own it and it cannot be found in my library systems), that it be left off the list. If you start it, and you just cannot tolerate it (for whatever reason), then DNF it.

At that point, you can replace it as Susan suggests or count it. The important part is that you find 10 books that haven't gotten the attention they might deserve and try them out. Have fun!

Another genre that I enjoy is Historical Fiction. And, LynnB, your NF is certainly varied. A couple are interesting to me...and I am not a big NF reader.

The object is to make a list of 10 books that have been on your TBR list the longest and get them finally read.

You are allowed to DNF any book that you list after giving it a try.

This game is part 1 of 3. The other parts will be announced when people start finishing their LOST list as they are based on the date LOST was finished. However, you are not required to participate in parts 2&3, which are just incentives for not letting the LOST books linger.

I just realized that RAT is 2 weeks long! I plan to add to my list, since that would amount to only 90 pages a day. I can do more than that.

Tien, I want to read that book....but not with a RAT pending. Sorry. I would do it next year, but not at this time.
