"Chapter 21 presented a situation of which I can relate to. Leverkühn's "Phosphorescence of the Sea" is composed in a style which he obviously deems to be unoriginad but is performed by an orchestra regardless. Despite being a very good piece of music, he feels that this misrepresents his true intentions as a composer.
