80482 I came to Earthsea as an adult, but felt like it was the type of story you read as a child or teen. Not that I didn't enjoy the books. Far from it. I would put it on the same shelf as Chronicles of Narnia, and Prydain Chronicles.

I enjoyed the Jirel of Joiry stories too.

I will agree with the article that the stories lacked the action you see in other S & S works.

Regardless it remains one of my all time favorites.
