For those who are Howard fans, his story Spear and Fang also appears in this anthology. I don't think I own that one in any other book.

I love the Black Cauldron! Is it your first time reading it?That series and the Narnia books were my introduction to Fantasy.

It is adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s The Hound.
It is a complete unpublished novel published posthumously by Hippocampus Press.
It is due to release in August.

I honestly thought that the prevalence of female protagonists was somehow tied to the empress in the synopsis blurb, or at the very least the mummified female captain the Emissary finds...
It is a very odd coincidence so many wrote a female protagonist w/o some larger design.
