Awesome Stephan, where do we view it?

Hello Fellow Rogues,
I failed to get a poll together, but in spite of that I propose we roll forward. December 6, Blood of the Serpent will (hopefully) be released. I propose we keep that in the box for December.
For November: show your support for New Edge Sword and Sorcery. Tell us about contemporary S&S you are reading. What new voices have you discovered?
With my fellow Moderators help (banners are not in my skill set) we will get the November-December topics up soon.
Side note: I get busy with work, sometimes a gentle, or not so gentle, poking of the stick may be required. I will do better in the future.

I’m multitasking. I’m reading two different anthologies, one is a Mythos anthology the second is a “new best horror” anthology; both have stories by Karl Edward Wagner, which was my reason for picking them up from the library.
I’m also reading Tales From the Magician’s Skull #8 and on the plane ride back from Fresno last week I started D. Smith’s Sometime Lofty Towers, and I it is the FINEST bit of new S&S. Fantastic.

I too enjoy JMR’s Tornans

@John, I certainly will

Currently, I’m in a grazing mood, a little of this and that. After reading the Karl Edward Wagner Phantasmagoria special, it put me in the mood to hunt down as much of KEW’s horror as I could; also, as usual the closer we get to Halloween, the more horror I read. From my local library, I picked up Lovecraft’s Monsters edited by Ellen Dalton. It contains the KEW story “I’ve come to talk with you again”, which I have never read. It also contains fiction by Neil Gaiman, Joe R. Lansdale, Kim Newman and many others. I will start it today. In the mail I received a copy of Weirdbook #45. I have read the first three stories. I bought it on a whim as it has stories by names I recognize and enjoy: Adrian Cole, Darrell Schweitzer, John R. Fultz and John C. Hocking.

@Seth. I will use my meager skills to figure out how to place a poll on Groupreads

@Stephen, great job and thank you for helping Seth out by, literally, taking on the banner.
As for me, I will endeavor to find time to seek out a pastiche to read until the new Stirling book drops; I’m thinking I might finish Volume 1 of The Savage Sword of Conan (Omnibus edition). It’s been collecting dust, half read, on my nightstand for far too long.

Pre-ordered

I will step up for poll duty in October. Thank goodness it is a poll and not a pole, my dancing days are far behind me

@Seth, thank you for adding the new edition. As for the book: it isn’t giving me the wow factor I was hoping for, but it definitely is worth a read. I read the first 100 or so pages yesterday, which is about 2/3 of the volume. I can see the comparison to Vance with one of the stories. The Saga of Adalwolf seems the usual favorite. I enjoyed it but the ending seemed projected and didn’t come as a shock.

I’m reading Schuyler Hernstrom’s Thune’s Vision. I’m reading the new 2022 edition which seems absent from Goodreads. It comes highly recommend and while it isn’t “wowing” me, I can see why it is well regarded.

Subscribed and eager

Awesome

@Seth, anything you can share?

I have nothing to add but concurrence. I would love a new collected edition.

Future, but related idea: group read of publications such as Whetstone, TftMS, etc.. @Seth, we have done this idea before, but I feel t is important that we, the fans and consumers, support these products so they do not fade away.
If the vehicle has no wheels, you can put as much gas in the tank as you wish, but t isn’t going anywhere.

I like any idea that affords me the chance to discover someone/something new.

I posted my review today

I enjoyed this one a great bit. I will post my review soon
