@Richard, as am I. It’s another solid collection. I’m on the last story, have been for three days. I need to finish it up and get my review posted. I feel bad that I have fallen behind on my reviews on advance copies, but work life has been rough sailing of late, and I don’t Se that changing soon

Awesome. Let us know when it launches

I’m so excited about this, I keep forgetting parts: I agree to read and post prior to 4/28

@Jason with agreement to read and post review here and on Amazon

@Jason, as I’m looking forward to this book tremendously, I volunteer with both hands up

I’m sad to learn that John Jakes passed away. Maybe we could do a Brak the Barbarian group read in his honor?

Witch Hunter, C.L. Werner. It’s been on my shelf too long

Still catching up on my magazine reads. New Edge Sword & Sorcery #0

Things like bookjacking are on the rise due to the “Gig” Economy we are part of. Since the pandemic, people have been asking “where did all the people go? Why is there no one to sell me tacos at Taco Bell?”. The people are still there, but being set down during the pandemic, they turned to the Gig Economy. In a Gig Economy, you don’t work for establishments, you work Gigs For yourself. Most found they were making just as much profit as before, and they essentially work for themselves, so they are sticking with it.
Most of it’s legitimate: Uber, Door Dash, Etsy, etc.. but some of it is not, Bookjacking being the example on display here. I’m sure Bookjackers justify it by saying “It’s the same as flipping anything”. We feel it more keenly because they are messing with our passions.

Not anthologies in the traditional sense, but I caught up on Tales from the Magician’s Skull (#9 and Special 2), then read New Edge Sword & Sorcery #0. I might launch into Whetstone with #3 and attempt to catch up there; however, a few other works are bouncing all giddy like on my nightstand. I hope to make 2023 the year I finish series I started years ago; amongst them are Elric, Vance’s Dying Earth series and the Gormenghast trilogy

I have been in a burn out mode lately. I just have not read much. Every now and then I hit a reading wall and just don’t feel it for a few weeks. I have along flight next week, so that may change; however, on a whim I downloaded the iOS version of the board game Scythe. I am addicted. I knew I enjoyed the game, I have since it first released, but having constant access has not been healthy

As usual, my appetite to read was larger than my time to read actual; I won’t be getting to this until next year

Awesome @Stephen. I look forward to reading your thoughts

It is scheduled to come out the day before my birthday. I think this will make a nice present for me
