Lucas softly chuckled, both at the fact that she was right about him not really taking notes, and because she called him Boy Scout. She always used that to tease him, even though he argued that he wasn’t one. Sometimes he wasn’t as reckless as she was, or as she became to be after middle school, and that was because of his parents mostly.

“A favor?” He asked, feeling skeptical. He knew how wild Lena could get, and doing a favor for her probably wasn’t a good idea. But watching her look back to him with a smirk like that, and actually wanting his pencil, he decided to go ahead with her favor. After all, what could be so bad if it involved a party? Right.

“Mixed feelings. Why?” He asked her.

BACKGROUND

Emmett was born as a second child to both his parents in New York right after having to move there from Korea. His parents were strict with their boys when it comes to education, and so they put them in one of the best academies. Nothing but the best was expected from both the boys. However, Emmett struggled in school from an early age. It was later discovered that he suffered from ADHD, and it didn’t help that his parent's strictness made him struggle in secret. Emmett was always told to be like his older brother, to score like him and learn like him. He was always placed in his older brother’s shadow, be little because he wasn’t as smart. Because of all this, he became introverted and anxious but was kind-hearted and optimistic. Even so, he pushed himself in his studying as he continued to learn, trying to reach higher levels just to please his parents. Eventually, he was able to higher his grades, and even though it wasn’t like his brother, seeing the happiness in his parent's face was enough to keep him going. He continued like that, learning and studying. He was too focused on school that he didn’t have the opportunity to make friends like normal teenagers, so he would be awkward at times when he had to. When college came around, Emmett was determined to major in engineering back in Seoul, despite not even wanting that. He found it too difficult for him, no matter how hard he tried. But he reasoned that his parents wanted it. So he flew back to his home country, where he started his education. At the age of twenty-two, Emmett found himself in a difficult time. Pressure from exams, his parents, teachers, and even himself, Emmett barely ate or slept. It was to the point he worked himself to death. As he made his way down the campus stairs, he passed out broke his neck. It was minutes later in the ambulance did he come back to life, as if nothing happened. He was hospitalized to make sure everything was okay, and that’s when Dr. Novell found him.

After having to leave the diner, Elizabeth headed home. She was still a bit worked up from everything with the tattoo shop and the diner. It was seriously not her day today. The worst part was that she still had to study for her exam. Wonderful. At least she was doing it with Salem, which was why she rushed home after the diner. She didn’t want her friend to get there before her.

Because of that, she had forgotten to pick up Sam as Renny told her to. She was surely going to get hell from her brother for it. But with everything that’s happened, it didn’t even cross her mind.

Once she reached home, she kicked off her boots and headed upstairs to change into something more comfortable. Her parents weren’t home, like always, and Renny would be late because of coaching. Tony and Jack were home but they were watching TV so she didn’t have to worry about them.
