78818 It won't be the same without you, Brandon, but the girls and I will probably get up to no good somehow.
78818 Not me, but it looks like I'm going to make RainbowCon again :) San Diego is near my "other" backyard. Wish I could get there too.
78818 We haven't heard a release date yet, but I'd guess towards the end of April g beginning of May??? Just a guess though.
78818 Mad is a genius. It's right in our faces. There may possibly be four. I'm waiting for a confirm :)
78818 OOOH, I may know what you mean, actually. But let me know for sure.
78818 Were there? PM me :)

78818 It's cycles, I think. But don't you wonder why?

I've finished it, but still haven't written down all my thoughts. My kindle notes are a mess. I was a mess.

I might just go peek in and see who's reading it and talk it out with someone.

Thanks Brandon, I just had a swoon.

Steamy glasses are a must, just sayin'.

Also, it's really hard finding hot sexy nerd guys. A tumblr "sexy nerd" search turns up nearly exclusively women. Uh. No. Just. No.

So, in an effort to save everyone from further data mining (thanks OJ) disappointment you might want to check out these resources I found while...working on it. Not pics, but still fun:

Overly Suave IT Guy

Nerdy Computer Geek Pick-up Lines!
78818 There are two :)

78818 This guy, actor Ben Wishaw, is 34 in RL, happens to be gay and recently married. I feel like Sweeny is a bit older, just because of the experience these guys seem to have under their belts. Maybe I over think these things.

The question is, could this Sweeny bring ^^^ that Drake to his knees?

78818 This was harder to come up with than I expected, but I think I've found my Sweeny.

78818 Cool. I'll mark it on my calendar :)
78818 Oh, I stand corrected, Irish, you're flying through this. I'm trying to be very patient for you to get through 4. It's really hard to wait.
78818 Binge reads are the best reads!

Upper hand switcheroo describes this perfectly. Heh, and you're only in Ep 1 :P

78818 I'm loving this convo and the additional input. Thanks Brandon. I knew you had researched this, but didn't realize the different words that might be used was part of it. Makes sense.

Hunter arrogant? Say it isn't so.

Have you actually met anyone like him?
78818 Ooh, checkin'out Caddy then. Glad you're here Caddy :D

Mmm, this isn't really what I'm addressing either. What I was specifically talking to was about the descriptive tone in the small details. Maybe it has absolutely nothing to do with author gender, but it's seemed that way.

Sure, I've read female authors who've blown my mind with grit, and male authors who can be so tender I'm brought to my knees, but there are times when living inside a specific body makes a difference in how you are able to express something. OH boy, I'm going to get myself in trouble here. I hate generalizations. Sorry.

Also maybe, it wasn't a gender thing, but instead a blind-perspective. Hunter wasn't disgusted my a foot smell that might have put another off. Instead he imagined it the way a wine connoisseur might describe a fine wine.

78818 What I didn't drag over here from the other thread, Irish, is that this wasn't a discussion about quality. There's no right or wrong, just a discernible difference. I just want to make that really clear. This is not about better or worse. Or can or can't. :)

But yeah, there is something really different in the way Afflicted comes across. I hope I'll never know personally how a blind person experiences life, but I really felt like Brandon's writing did a great job at putting me inside Hunter's head. His research showed through.
